USA Artistic Swimming brought high-energy competition to the Queen City as athletes from across the country gathered in Buffalo, New York for the National & Junior Championships alongside the AWD Invitational.

More than 300 athletes took to the pool at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center over four action-packed days, delivering an unforgettable weekend of artistry, athleticism, and determination. From precision routines to powerful team performances, the competition highlighted the incredible depth of talent across all levels of the sport.

The weekend served as a key milestone for many athletes—whether they were working to qualify for the Junior Olympics or putting a final stamp on their season, every routine reflected months of dedication, discipline, and hard work.

In the Senior category, Scottsdale Synchro dominated the field, sweeping all major honors. The club earned Team High Point for their consistent podium finishes throughout the weekend, while also claiming both Athlete of the Year and Coach of the Year.

Mona Schwickert was named Junior Athlete of the Year after competing across multiple events and consistently delivering top finishes, showcasing both versatility and endurance. Head Coach Olivia Zhang earned Coach of the Year recognition, leading her athletes to standout performances and an overall commanding presence in the pool.

In the Junior category, the Walnut Creek Aquanuts mirrored that success, also capturing all three top honors. Kaylee Wang was recognized as the High Point Athlete for her exceptional performances, while Head Coach Heather Carrasco was named Coach of the Year following a weekend of dominant results from her team.

USA Artistic Swimming clearly can’t get enough of Buffalo. The organization will return to the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center on April 23 for the Youth 12U Invitational—setting the stage for yet another exciting weekend of artistic swimming in the Queen City.
