Club Membership Fee Increase:
The National Office evaluates all membership fees on an annual basis as a best practice. Since current leadership started in 2018 there has been a pledge to work hard to maintain membership fees. We will continue our commitment to keep individual membership fees where they are. We recognize the increasing costs of all things and want to do our best to ensure that athletes remain in the sport and clubs can operate.
While individual membership fees will remain the same, we are strongly considering an increase to club membership fees. Club membership fees are currently $75 annually and the proposed plan is to increase them to $150 annually. As many of you know our insurance offering is one of the primary benefits of club membership. If an individual club was to look at replacing the insurance coverage that is provided to them through USA Artistic Swimming the minimum premium would be around $2500 per club (information provided by insurance broker Loomis and Lapann). The cost of insurance has increased year over year and that is the primary driver for this increase. By increasing it to $150 it should allow us to maintain the fee at that rate for many years to come.
Before you submit your nominations, please review the selection criteria found in the appropriate appendix of our rulebook for each award. Submissions for 2023 awards will open June 15.
