Kennedy Shriver Hired as Communications and Partnership Marketing Manager

by USA Artistic Swimming

Kennedy Shriver has been hired as the next Communications and Partnership Marketing for USA Artistic Swimming. Shriver will work to provide strategic vision as it relates to all communication and promotion of USAAS by working across digital media platforms, managing the website and serving as creative lead on projects.
In Shriver’s previous position, she served as the Director of Creative Services in the Colorado State University Pueblo athletic department for two years. In this rare position at the Division II level, Shriver managed the Pack’s 21 varsity sports’ social media accounts, produced high quality hype videos for the stadium's videoboards, worked to increase student and community involvement through live in-game promotions. Shriver left an impact on CSU Pueblo’s social media presence in their athletic department and game day productions as well as many other areas of the athletic department. Her multifaceted skill set is sure to continue to elevate USA Artistic Swimming’s digital presence.
Along with her accomplishments as the Director of Creative Servies, Shriver also recently graduated from Colorado State University with a master's in communications and media management, achieving an impressive 3.96 GPA. Her undergraduate studies focused on integrative communications, also at CSU Pueblo, where she was a student-athlete on the volleyball team.
Alyssa Jacobs, who leaves the position to continue her career in the Olympic Movement and take on a new role at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee, is excited to hand off the baton to Shriver and see her utilize her skillset and fresh perspective to keep pushing the organization forward. “I’m sad to be leaving the artistic swimming community but also very excited to stay involved in the movement on a larger scale. I have had the best experience at USAAS and am thankful to everyone who welcomed me into this sport. I have no doubt Kennedy will do an excellent job at continuing to increase visibility of this extraordinary sport,” Jacobs said.
Shriver officially began her role on October 16 and will make her artistic swimming event debut at the Masters Championship in Arizona. Alyssa will continue to manage promotion of the national team ahead of and during the Pan American Games before officially handing off all USAAS-related responsibilities.
I am very excited to be a part of USAAS and beyond grateful for this opportunity to be a part of such a great team and unique sport. Everyone on the team has been super helpful and supportive of my hiring and I am looking forward to what is ahead,” Shriver said.
