Brightpink and USAAS Partner to Save Lives

by Alyssa Jacobs, USA Artistic Swimming

Colorado Spring, CO and Chicago, IL – USA Artistic Swimming, the only all-female, national governing body and Bright Pink, a national nonprofit, today announced a strategic alliance designed to amplify one another’s mission and values.

We are delighted to become an official partner of Bright Pink and to devote our considerable assets to support its quest to prevent breast and ovarian cancers in young women,” said Adam Andrasko, USAAS Chief Executive Officer. “Educating and activating women to take charge of their health at a younger age is what Bright Pink is all about, their message aligns perfectly with our wholistic athlete safety efforts.”

The facts are that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 1 in 78 women will develop ovarian cancer during their lifetimes.
Bright Pink, in partnership with USAAS, will drive awareness to USAAS’s family and fans that women age 18-40 should know their personal risk of breast and ovarian cancer and learn what preventive steps they can take to reduce their risk.

We’re excited to partner with the USA Artistic Swimming. We admire that the team is always in sync and their performances are bright,” said Ginny Ehrlich, Bright Pink CEO. “Bright Pink encourages all young women to be in sync with their bodies and proactive about their health so that they can live brighter, healthier lives.”

This partnership will include education and activation events for USAAS members and fans focused on ensuring that they assess their risk for breast and ovarian cancer early and take appropriate risk reducing steps to protect their breast and ovarian health.
