COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - SPIRE Institute & Academy will serve as the host site for 2022 Junior and Senior Championships and National Team Trials April 6-10, USA Artistic Swimming announced today. The institute near Cleveland, Ohio is constructed on 500 acres with 750,000 sq. ft. under roof and is among the largest indoor multi-sport, training, education and competition complexes in North America. The 2021 All Star Camp and Coaches College was hosted here last November, and it offered a great facility for artistic swimming. SPIRE boasts a unique global events calendar, including those organized by the NCAA, the Big East, Big Ten and Atlantic 10 conferences, as well as Olympic trials and world championship qualifiers. The facility is well-prepared to host a national championship for artistic swimming.
"We are excited to be bringing another USA Artistic Swimming event back to SPIRE Institute & Academy. From Cleveland to Geneva, the surrounding areas have much to offer our visiting athletes and their families. Our athletes had a great experience at the 2020 All Star Camp and we are thrilled to offer a premier championship opportunity to the nation's top junior and senior age-athletes at the Junior and Senior National Championships and National Team Trials event," Adam Andrasko, CEO of USA Artistic Swimming, said
The attractions of the surrounding area are endless. Geneva, Ohio is home to over twenty wineries and is close to beautiful Lake Erie. Cleveland itself has options for those of all interests, including an exciting sports landscape. Visitors may be able to catch a Cleveland Cavaliers, Indians or Monsters game. Additional draws to the area include the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, museums, a zoo and endless restaurant and brewery options.
“Cleveland is honored to host the 2022 USA Artistic Swimming Junior and Senior Championship, JR/SR NT Trials at our world class facility, SPIRE Institute, which will provide a wonderful space to watch these incredibly talented athletes compete.” said David Gilbert, President and CEO of Greater Cleveland Sports Commission. “With our region expecting an estimated $600-thousand in direct spending from this exciting competition, our team is ready to welcome the 300 athletes this coming April.”
“SPIRE Institute is honored to have been awarded the 2022 USA Artistic Swimming Junior and Senior Championship and JR/SR NT Trials. We are excited to once again be working with Adam Andrasko and the USA Artistic Swimming Team and we will work tirelessly to ensure this event is a positive and memorable experience for all involved,” Jeff Orloff, COO of Spire Institute, said.
