USAAS Renews Partnership with Integrated Sports Systems
by Alyssa Jacobs, USA Artistic Swimming
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Artistic Swimming will be continuing the partnership with Integrated Sports Systems (ISS) that revolutionized and increased efficiency for judging at the sport’s national events. Before ISS created the systems that allow our national events to run on the current designed systems, all scoring was done on paper and subject to human error and time constraints. The technological advancements provided by ISS allows scores to be displayed immediately both in-venue and via the livestream. The technology has since been adapted by other countries and sports.
Modernizing the scoring system has been a huge step forward for the organization, but could not be done without the ingenuity and technical expertise of Mike Morris, ChiefProgrammer and Director of ISS, and his staff that provide their services on-site at our events. Mike and his team have extensive experience assisting with scoring for aquatic events, particularly judge-based sports, and pride themselves on their ability to provide contemporary, customized solutions.
Adam Andrasko, USA Artistic Swimming CEO, says he is excited to see the partnership continue: “The service and technology that ISS provides are two of the most important components of our events. They allow us to deliver a better event experience in the pool and through our livestream. Equally as important, the team at ISS is fantastic to work with and we look forward to continuing our relationship.”
“I have always felt strongly about giving all athlete’s the Olympic experience. Traditionally swimmers had to wait for an entire routine to finish before they were presented with their scores. With our relationship with USA Artistic Swimming, we are proud to be a part of the solution: youth swimmers of all levels getting their scores immediately following their routine, just like at the Olympics. It brings great joy to see the swimmers exit the pool and wait while the judges enter their scores in real-time using our i-judge electronic scorecards,” Mike Morris said.
