USAAS Announces Two Additional Events to be Held in August

USA Artistic Swimming is pleased to announce two more competition opportunities on the 2022 calendar. Both the AWD Invitational and Youth America Open will be held in conjunction with the FINA Youth World Championships in Charlotte, North Carolina in August. The Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center (MCAC), a world class natatorium, will be the host site for the competitions.

The AWD Invitational marks the second USAAS-sponsored opportunity for artistic swimmers with disabilities in America. The category was just added to the Junior Olympics schedule last year and judges, staff and fans alike were in awe of the athletes’ performances. USA Artistic Swimming is pleased to offer this second national opportunity for these swimmers in our community. The event will take place from August 10-14. The Youth America Open will be a competition open to domestic and international participants ages 13-15 competing under club representation. Interested participants in this portion of the competition can contact the national office Events Director at baylee@usaartisticswim.org directly. The deadline to register is July 7th and competition will take place August 8th-14thMore information on this event can be found on the event page HERE.

The city of Charlotte offers a convenient, east coast gateway to the rest of the world. The 14th largest city in the United States boasts a bustling restaurant scene as well as plenty activities for those of all ages including the NASCAR Hall of Fame and the thrilling U.S. National Whitewater Center.
