USA Artistic Swimming Declares 2026 the “Year of the Coach”
by USA Artistic Swimming, Kennedy Shriver
USA Artistic Swimming is proud to announce that 2026 will be the official “Year of the Coach,” a year-long initiative to celebrate the dedication, passion, and impact of coaches across the sport.
While athletes often take the spotlight, it is the coaches who put in countless hours, pour their hearts into every practice, and inspire growth that changes lives. USA Artistic Swimming is an athlete-first organization, but behind every incredible performance is a coach whose work and commitment often go unrecognized.
The “Year of the Coach” initiative will feature one inspiring coach story each month:
- When: The first Wednesday of every month in 2026
- Where: Stories will be featured on USA Artistic Swimming's social media, a dedicated "Year of the Coach" website page, and archived on the USAAS Academy Platform.
- How to Participate: Members are invited to submit a nomination through THIS Google Form, including a video 10 seconds–1 minute long highlighting what makes their coach exceptional. Entries can showcase what you love most about your coach, give them a shout-out, or share how they’ve inspired you. Only one submission is required, and previous entries will remain in consideration. Each month, USA Artistic Swimming staff will select the most inspiring stories to feature. If your coach is not selected to be featured on USAA's platform, we encourage you to share on your personal account with the hashtag #YearoftheCoach.
“Coaches are the heart of our sport,” shares Adam Andrasko, CEO of USA Artistic Swimming. “With the Year of the Coach, we want to recognize the incredible work they do every day to guide, inspire, and develop our athletes. We encourage all members to nominate the coaches who have made a difference in their lives.”
