2021 Rising Stars Locations Announced
by Alyssa Jacobs, USA Artistic Swimming
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Earlier this year, USA Artistic Swimming announced a revamped national talent program called Rising Stars. The educational camp series is meant to foster the development of all athletes across the country, but especially to identify high-level talent for the national team program. This camp series will also serve as a way for athletes to learn from some of our nation’s best coaches, including those from our national team program. In a traditional year, athletes would first attend a red-level camp hosted at up to 20 associations across the country. Three-hundred selected athletes would advance to blue star camp. From the six sectional blue star camps, 60 athletes would be selected to attend the annual All-Star Camp. The Rising Stars program was announced earlier this year, and due to the condensed schedule, the decision was made to only host only the upper two-tier camps. There is no prequalifying requirement to attend the blue-level camps this year. To read more about the program, read the full release HERE.
Locations for the first-ever Rising Stars Program blue-level camps have been announced. USAAS members can expect to see six camps spread across the country this fall, with high-level coaches traveling to each to inspire our community. The same material will be taught at each stop along the way, ensuring everyone is provided with an equitable educational opportunity. Various collegiate programs and clubs will be local hosts for the stops.
