by USA Artistic Swimming Foundation

TARZANA, Calif. - The USA Artistic Swimming Foundation is hosting an inaugural Gala fundraising event, American Gold & Glory, supported by title sponsors Gateway Insurance & Financial Services and MacLean Financial Group this weekend. The Gala will take place Saturday, July 31, from 5-10 p.m. at the 17-acre Kravetz Estate in Tarzana, Calif. The evening will kick off with a VIP reception with Olympic gold medalists and their coaches in attendance in an exquisite garden setting on the estate, presented by Korbel Champagne. The main program begins at 6 p.m. and includes delicious food, signature drinks, a raffle and performances by the USA Artistic Swimming junior national team and the Aqualilies. The exclusive gathering will celebrate those who have won their Olympic gold medal, while providing support to those who will win their medal in the future. Attendees will include a dozen Olympic gold medalists and close to 150 individuals who support the sport and the Olympic movement from the L.A. area.

We have always been long-time supporters of the Olympic movement. We are excited to once again support Team USA and their quest for Gold and Glory!” said Hawley MacLean, President and CEO of MacLean Financial Group.

We are proud to support Team USA through our sponsorship. Helping people achieve financial goals is in direct line with helping athletes achieve their personal goals. Together we can achieve dreams both financially and personally.” said Shane Westhoelter, CEO and Founder, Gateway Insurance & Financial Services.

The original 17-acre Kravetz Estate was the home of Oscar-winning director John Huston, which attracted Hollywood elites and movie stars of the day. The pool, which is the centerpiece of this event, was formerly used by artistic swimmer Esther Williams, known from the golden age of Hollywood films. This same pool will welcome performances by America's greatest young artistic swimmers as part of the evening's program. The property includes stone from Huston's legendary film The Treasure of Sierra Madre as well as magnificently landscaped grounds on which the event will be held. The most unique aspect to the Kravetz estate, is one of the finest private railroads in the world. The beautiful estate railroad and steam engine was built by former homeowner Gordon MacLean and Walt Disney in the 1950s. The engine is a Pacific Class, 7.5" gauge, working steam locomotive and train that circles the property, enabling guests as a means of travel throughout the event.

Sunday’s Golden Spike Celebration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. will be the first time the restored train and track will be open to the public. There will be several live steam and other scale trains that visitors will be able to ride on and photograph.

Tickets are available for purchase including options for the VIP Reception presented by Korbel and the Golden Spike Celebration. For tickets and to learn more about USA Artistic Swimming and its Foundation, visit usaartisticswimmingfoundation.org
