COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Artistic Swimming’s Board of Directors has announced a new mission statement. After a working session to produce and refine a leading summary that would encompass the goals of the organization, a final statement was chosen during a monthly board of directors Zoom meeting. In the past few years, there have been numerous initiatives to change USAAS culture and energize membership. Nearly a year ago, USA Synchro became USA Artistic Swimming as the organization released the We Move As One campaign. The move was made in part to align with the sport’s name change at the international level, but the leadership of USAAS also recognized an opportunity to bring membership together and adopt a name that encompassed the beauty and complexity of the sport. Last week, the board of directors launched the organization forward once again by crafting and approving a new mission statement.

Lead in the advancement of artistic swimming by empowering athletes to achieve competitive success, uniting our community and inspiring our membership to pursue lifelong excellence and involvement in the sport.

"This is tremendously important for our organization. This statement solidifies who we are. From our youngest athlete to the national team head coach, everyone in this organization has dedicated themselves to making USA Artistic Swimming better,” CEO Adam Andrasko, said. “We are a better organization today than we were a year ago. This mission will guide us to the next level of success and beyond.”

"It is important for us to review our mission statement on a regular basis. This revision reaffirms who we are as an organization -- leaders in artistic swimming, inclusive of all athletes and committed to keeping our members engaged at all levels of the sport," Denise Shively, USA Artistic Swimming Board President, said.
